Jammu February 04 (KNS) : Continuing with its endeavour to encourage the meritorious wards of serving Police personnel, the Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of rupees eight lakh in favour of 149 wards of serving Police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the Annual examination of Class 10th and Class 12th during the Academic Session 2021-22. He has also sanctioned scholarships of rupees 1.15 lakh in favour of 23 wards of deceased Police personnel.
Vide PHQ’s Order, meritorious scholarship of Rupees 6000/- each has been sanctioned in favour of 36 wards who have secured more than 90% marks in the annual examination of class 10th while 46 students who have secured 80% and above marks in the examination has been given scholarship of rupees 4000/- each.
Similarly meritorious scholarship of rupees 7200/- each has been sanctioned in favour of 22 wards who have secured more than 90% marks in the annual examination of class 12th and rupees 6000/- each has been sanctioned in favour of 45 wards who have secured 80% and above marks.
The DGP has also sanctioned a scholarship of rupees 1.15 lakh in favour of 23 wards of deceased Police personnel who have passed away while in service due to natural/accidental death. The scholarship has been sanctioned for the wards studying in different classes from LKG to graduation for the academic session 2020-21 and the amount sanctioned ranges between rupees five thousand to ten thousand.
Police Headquarters under its welfare scheme has introduced various scholarships to encourage the meritorious wards of serving and retired Police personnel. Rewards and scholarships are granted to such wards to inculcate talent and spirit of competition among them. Besides, financial assistance is provided to the wards of martyrs/deceased Police personnel to help them in pursuing their education.(KNS)
