Srinagar, Aug 25 (KNS) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Tuesday reviewed security arrangements for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi and other forthcoming events across the Union Territory, including the Friday following the festival and Raksha Bandhan.
The meeting was held at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir and attended by senior police officers, including Special DGP Coordination, IGPs of Kashmir and Jammu zones, Range DIGs and district SSPs/PDs, besides other senior officers.
Detailed discussions were held on security preparedness, deployment strategies, crowd management and traffic regulation measures to ensure the peaceful and smooth conduct of the events.
Prabhat stressed heightened vigilance and proactive policing, with particular focus on major shrines, mosques and other religious places.
Special attention was given to Dargah Hazratbal and other prominent religious sites where nightlong prayers and large congregations are expected during Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The DGP directed officers to ensure adequate security coverage and close coordination among field formations for a timely response to any emerging situation.
He also called for strengthened surveillance at sensitive and vulnerable locations and effective deployment of personnel at strategic and high-footfall areas.
Prabhat directed officers to prepare effective traffic regulation and route management plans around major religious places and along procession routes to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees.
He also reviewed security arrangements for Raksha Bandhan and directed advance security and traffic measures at markets and temples, besides enhanced surveillance at prominent religious places.
The DGP emphasised that all necessary arrangements should be put in place well in advance to ensure the safe, peaceful and secure conduct of the forthcoming events across J&K.(KNS)
