DGP Reviews Security in Budgam, Stresses Dismantling 'Terror Ecosystem'

 SRINAGAR, Feb 25 (KNS) ; Stressing the need to dismantle the support network of terrorists, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, on Wednesday reviewed the security scenario in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and called for focused action against the "terror ecosystem."

 
A senior police officer stated that the DGP chaired a comprehensive security review meeting to assess the operational preparedness of the district police. The meeting was attended by senior officers including Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Geelani, IGP Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi, DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajeev Pandey, and SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar.
 
During the briefing, SSP Borkar provided a detailed overview of counter-insurgency operations, law and order management, and measures to curb drug trafficking in the district, officials said.
 
Prabhat reviewed both kinetic (operations) and non-kinetic approaches currently in place. He specifically directed officers to generate actionable intelligence at the field level and maintain sustained operational momentum against militants.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"Highlighting the current security challenges, the DGP directed officers to undertake non-traditional, non-conformist, and modern tactics to neutralize Pakistani terrorists," the statement said.
 
The DGP emphasized a focused approach to eliminate not just the militants but also their support networks to establish lasting peace in the district. He called for seamless coordination with sister intelligence agencies and stressed the importance of surveillance on traditional terror sympathizers and separatist networks.
 
On the law and order front, Prabhat advised officers to take preventive measures against miscreants and to engage peace-loving citizens in day-to-day policing activities to bridge the gap between the police and the public, the official added. He urged officers to remain committed to ensuring long-lasting peace and stability in the region. (KNS)
