Srinagar, January 20 (KNS) : The Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, IPS, chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the District Police Office in Ganderbal on Tuesday. The meeting was convened to assess the district's prevailing security situation and operational preparedness.
The review was attended by senior officials including S.J.M. Gillani, IPS, Special DGP (Coordination); V.K. Birdi, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone; Rajiv Pandey, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of the Central Kashmir Range; and Khalil Ahmad Poswal, JKPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal. Various Gazetted Officers, Station House Officers, and District Officers of Ganderbal Police were also present.
During the meeting, DGP Prabhat conducted a detailed evaluation of law and order management, counter-terrorism preparedness, crime control measures, and security arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day-2026 celebrations.

He emphasized the need for heightened alertness, foolproof security planning, intensified area domination, and robust intelligence-based operations to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations.
Addressing the officers, DGP Prabhat issued clear directives to deal firmly and decisively with anti-national elements threatening public safety and peace. He reiterated a policy of zero tolerance towards activities inimical to national security, urging officers to intensify operations against such threats while maintaining a people-friendly approach.
The DGP commended the efforts of the Ganderbal Police and encouraged them to continue working with dedication, professionalism, and commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure a secure environment for citizens.
