Jammu, Dec 18 (KNS): Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid declared the 29th J&K State Junior Volleyball championships open at M.A Stadium, today. The said championship is organised by Volleyball Association of J&K and sponsored by J&K Sport Council. The championship is being organised for boys and girls and will conclude on 20th of this month.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S.P. Vaid who was chief guest said that games provide great opportunity to the youth from different parts of our state to connect with one another and know about culture of different regions. He said that organizing the volleyball championship for the youth from different districts of the state in Jammu will help the youth in developing friendship and also knowing about the language, dress and traditions of one another. This goes in longway in understanding the rich diverse culture, our state is having from Leh to Poonch and from Uri to Lakhanpur. He hoped that the games will help in identifying new players who can represent state in the game in future. (KNS)
