Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNS): Director General of Police, Prisons Department J&K S K Mishra Wednesday chaired review board meeting for Premature Release of Convicted Prisoners on the eve of Republic Day 2018.
The meeting was held at Central Jail Srinagar.
Several members including Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, District Magistrate Srinagar, Secretary Social Welfare Board MM, Shazia Tabasum Assistant Professor University of Kashmir, Shabnum Ayub District Litigation Officer, Social Welfare, Hilal Ahmad Rather, Superintendent Central Jail Srinagar and Javeed Ahmad Tak, Humanity Welfare Organist ion Helpline participated in the meet.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The board members interacted with the convicted prisoners whose cases were reviewed and after consideration the merits of the each case, it was decided to consider and recommended the premature release of eligible convicted prisoners to the Government for appropriate orders. (KNS)
