India’s position in JK a ‘usurper, occupier’: Shabir Shah

In connection with restructuring the party base in district Anantnag of south Kashmir, a meeting of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) was held in which representatives and members from the district participated. The meeting was chaired by party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah. Apart from Shah, the meeting was attended by party general secretary Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari and other representatives.
In a statement to KNS a spokesman of the party said on the occasion, Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar was appointed as district president, Musthtaq Ahmed as Secretary, Shabir Ahmed Baba as Organizer while as Engineer Farooq Ahmed Khan, Manzoor Ahmed Ghazi, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai, Ghulam Rasool, Bashir Ahmad Baba, Manzoor Ahmad Gojri, Masood Ahmad Boda, Bashir Ahmad Dhobi and Nazir Ahmad Tanda were appointed as members.
Following the appointment of the above mentioned representatives and members, Shah while addressing the meeting reminded them of their responsibilities and said “our 68 year long struggle for freedom demands that we strengthen our public relations firmly by creating political awareness among people.”
“We have rendered innumerous sacrifices including lakhs of lives and loss of properties worth trillions of rupees.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMore than 500 graveyards are witness to the holocaust caused by Indian occupational forces here,” he said.
Commenting on anti-movement elements, Shah said, “They are hell bent upon creating confusion regarding the pro-freedom camps and urged members to remain vigilant of these designs and remain steadfast with the freedom movement. The martyrs have laid a great responsibility on our shoulders which we’ve to fulfil with utmost dedication and sincerity.”
Shah stressed on world powers to play role in resolving the long pending dispute of Kashmir which continues to pose threat to peace and stability in the subcontinent. “India’s clinging to rhetoric of ‘integral part’ will not help the country in any way. New Delhi should shun its stubbornness and muster courage to accept the ground reality of Kashmir issue that the State never was its part.”
Terming India’s position in Jammu Kashmir as that of ‘usurper and occupier’, Shah said, “Presence of more than eight Lakh forces here speaks itself. If India is so sure of its legitimacy in J&K, it should not hesitate from holding a referendum in the State and whatever the results would be acceptable to us.”
