Srinagar, Apr 06 (KNS): Paying tribute to Shaheed Bilal Ahmad Bhat who achieved martyrdom while fighting Indian occupational forces in Gadoora, Pulwama, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari said the mujahid sacrificed his life for a great cause.
In a statement issued to KNS, Tari while shedding light on the martyr’s life said though he had small children but still laid down his precious life for a great cause and achieved martyrdom.
He also expressed concern over the harassment of Kashmiri students by non-locals in NIT Srinagar and criticised the Indian media for its biased reporting regarding the episode.
“The attitude and demands of non-local students is part of a great conspiracy. Similarly treatment is meted out to Kashmiri students studying in various Indian states. This all is aimed at ruining their career,” he said.
Moulana Tari said if the hooliganism and harassment of Kashmiri students in Rajasthan and Bhopal is not stopped, it will yield serious repercussions.
He said police is adding fuel to fire in the NIT episode and is not taking any action against the non-local students who were involved in harassment of their Kashmiri counterparts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Instead, police is bent to book Kashmiri students in false cases,” he said.
Meanwhile, Moulana Abdullah Tari addressed a condolence meeting held at DFP chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah’s ancestral residence, Kadipora, Islamabad. On behalf of Ghulam Nabi Shah, Muhammad Shafi Shah, Muhammad Saeed Shah, and Shabir Ahmad Shah, Tari thanked people who had come to offer condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family on the demise of Shabir Ahmad Shah’s aunt.
During the meeting, the leaders and bereaved family also thanked all those personalities who had expressed condolence through telephone and email.
The participants criticised the state administration for not allowing Shabir Ahmad Shah participate in his aunt’s funeral prayers. “Even in 1989, Shah Sahib was not allowed to offer funeral prayers of his beloved father who was martyred in police custody,” the leaders said. (KNS)
