Srinagar, Nov 1 (KNS): Strongly reacting to the arrest of party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah who was arrested on Saturday late evening and taken to some undisclosed location, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) said it became clear that the puppet rulers want to choke every genuine voice through might of power.
In a statement to KNS, a DFP spokesperson said the puppet government’s so-called ‘battle of ideas’ has been confined to speeches and statements while as every opposite idea is suppressed by the ruling class.
“During the so-called election time, these people start beating the drums of democracy and forget everything after coming to power. Now they have turned the whole valley into a virtual jail,” the spokesperson said.
He said Shabir Ahmad Shah has been kept under house arrest since last four months and was not even allowed to offer Friday or Eid prayers.
The spokesperson said the preparations of “Million March” announced by Hurriyat Conference are on and Kashmiri people will make it clear to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that they don’t need so-called economic packages but are against the Indian illegal, forcible and occupational rule.
He said though police are raiding the houses of DFP workers and arresting them, the people of Jammu and Kashmir will make the “Million March” a success by massive participation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Severely condemning the nocturnal raids on houses of DFP Secretary General Moulana Abdullah Tari and other party leaders, the spokesperson said the reports regarding the arrest of party members from all districts are coming.
“In Islamabad, Er Farooq Ahmad Khan and various activists including Abdul Rasheed Gilkar have been arrested. In Kupwara, Peer Inayatullah was arrested at a time when he was making preparations of his daughter’s wedding,” he said.
The DFP spokesperson while hailing the people of the state for their political maturity, said we’re hopeful that Kashmiris will not reject the packages by occupational rulers in solidarity with the freedom movement.
“These packages are aimed at further enslaving the people of Kashmir. We’re hopeful that people will not join those rallies where there are Mufti, Modi and pro-India politicians,” he said.
The spokesperson reiterated his appeal for massive participation in the “Million March” program as it’s a referendum. (KNS)
