Handwara, Mar 20:(KNS)  The MNREGA contactors and local residents of Mawer area of North Kashmir's Kupwara district expressed strong resentment against Rural Development Department  (RDD) block Mawer Qalamabad and alleged the development works in the area has been halted due to unknown reasons and maximum Works are about  to lapse.

People of area alleged that due callous attitude of the employees at Block Development Office the construction works has been halted and they are issuing the works only to their favorite ones.

A resident of the area requested not be named told Kashmir News Service, that those who posted at the BDO office Qalamabad are locals and they are working for their kiths and kins and are leaving common people to suffer.

They also said that the MNREGA bills are pending from  2017/18-2018/19 with rejection Account Payment  for the Year 2017/18-2018/19-2020/21 due to which  the livelihood of the large people are getting effected.

People of the area have urged  the authorities to release their pending bills at the earliest so that they can pay the outstanding amount of the shopkeepers.

They also urged the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to make reshuffle at the office so that the every one can get their rights.(KNS)
