Recent reports reveal that a catastrophic blaze has engulfed the forests in the Suleiman area, resulting in extensive devastation. This calamity is largely attributed to a lack of awareness regarding forest conservation and widespread negligence.
Experts assert that rampant deforestation coupled with recurrent forest fires has inflicted severe environmental damage. Forests, often referred to as the lungs of our planet, are crucial for oxygen production and serve as vital habitats for wildlife. Their destruction is causing a significant imbalance in the ecological equilibrium, repercussions of which we are currently experiencing.

Utmost caution must be exercised during camping or picnicking in proximity to forests, ensuring that all fires are fully extinguished before departure. Designated areas should be utilized for waste disposal in forested regions to mitigate fire risks. Moreover, stringent laws need to be enacted and enforced to curb deforestation. Educational campaigns should be systematically conducted in schools, colleges, and community centers to foster public awareness.
In Karnah, various social organizations have underscored the gravity of forest fires and urged the populace to exercise caution. Haji Tasleem, President of the Karnah Beopar Mandal, emphasized in an interview that the responsibility for forest protection rests with every individual. He called upon the Karnah administration to thoroughly investigate the underlying causes of the forest fires and to initiate robust awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public.(KNS)
