Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) today held a day long impressive program at its party head office in connection with the World Human Rights Day, and impressed upon the United Nations Human Rights Commission that continuous denial of the Right to Self Determination is the biggest human rights violation committed by India on the people of Jammu Kashmir.
The function, attended by the senior party office bearers and activists was presided over by the party Secretary General, Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari. It was addressed by numerous participants.
The speakers said that it is imperative upon the world body of the United Nations to see whether its member states are following the conventions they are signatory to. If any member state is found violating them it must be dealt with accordingly. It is important for the world body to save its credibility otherwise people world over are slowly losing their faith on United Nations and its concerned institutions. Ironically India is not only rejecting the implementation of the resolutions passed by the UNSC but also denying the basic rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir. Its lakhs of forces which have made the region as the most militarized area of the world are openly killing and maiming the people for demanding their right to self determination.
In his presidential address, Moulana Tari expressed concern over the use of blind force on unarmed forces in nook and corner. He said that people of Kashmir are denied their political and social rights, which has resulted in chaos in the region. New Delhi is trying to implicate the people’s movement with the global militancy however fact of the matter is that few Kashmiri youngsters have decided to take to gun only after they saw the denial mode of New Delhi.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Indian forces are using bullets and pellets against the unarmed people who try to raise their voice against the ongoing state terrorism. They jail people, insult them in the garb of search operations and even vandalise their properties to harm them economically.
India has also jailed the most popular political voice of Kashmir and JKDFP chairman, Shabir Shah after booking him in a fake, fabricated and already decided case. He despite being seriously ill in Tihar jail is not provided suitable medical treatment endangering the life of the ‘Prisoner of Conscience’. Though the family and a large number of his party office bearers and activists have time and again expressed their concern on the deteriorating health of Shabir Shah, New Delhi continuously exhibits its arrogance by not paying any heed to them.
Moulana Tari said that condition of almost all the political prisoners of Kashmir is same as they are suffering very pathetic conditions in different jails in and outside Jammu Kashmir after booked in fake cases. He appealed the United Nations Human Rights Commission to take a forward step after it issued a report about Kashmir few months back by sending a high level team to Kashmir so as to get the firsthand account of the situation. Moulana Tari appealed the UN Commissioner for Human Rights to take effective notice of horrible situation the Kashmiris are forced to go through. He appealed the UN Human Rights wing to raise the issue with the Government of India to ensure early release of Shabir Shah and all other Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in different Jails and take concrete steps to resolve the long pending political dispute of Kashmir.
