Srinagar, Oct 27 (KNS): To observe the October 27 as "black day", the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today held protest demonstrations in Press Enclave here against the forcible occupation of India.As DFP chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah continues to be under house arrest, the protestors who assembled in three groups were led by party Secretary General Moulana Abdullah Tari.The protestors while waiving black flags chanted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans and were later on arrested by police.
Those arrested included Moulana Tari, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, Bashir Ahmad Baba, Muhammad Yousuf Mir and others.On the occasion, the party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued to press said the example of the tyranny and oppression India carried out in the state of Jammu and Kashmir since last 68 years cannot be found in any part of the globe.
"Today, on October 27, when India landed its troops here, we want to send a clear message to the world we have never acknowledged the Indian rule which is based on force and military might and that we'll continue our struggle for freedom from Indian forcible occupation," Shah said
He said today the Democratic Freedom Party while upholding the protest call by Hurriyat Conference registered protests in every districts and hoisted black flags everywhere.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSeeking attention of international community towards the Kashmir issue, Shah said if the dispute will not be resolved at earliest, the whole subcontinent will fall victim to nuclear war."The Kashmir is an issue of about 13 million people which awaits resolution according to UN resolutions or through trilateral talks," he said.
Shabir Ahmad Shah while expressing grief over the massive earthquake in Pakistan extended his solidarity with the people of the country and prayed for their well being. "We also pray for strength to bear the loss and damages we suffered due to quake."
The DFP chairman also paid tributes to Shaheed Aafaq Ahmad Bhat and Shaheed Abdul Manan Dar who were martyred while fighting Indian forces in Drabgam, Pulwama.Expressing condolence and solidarity with the bereaved families, Shah said we salute the bravery and valour of our boys, who sacrificed their youth for the sake of freedom movement.
"We reiterate that we are indebted to the sacrifices of our martyrs and will not let anyone play with their sacred blood," Shah added. (KNS)
