Jammu, Mar 17(KNS): Expressing his deep concern over the reports regarding harassment and victimization of Kashmiri’s in various states outside J&K, the senior leader of CPI (M) and MLA, M.Y. Tarigami has called upon all the democratic forces and human rights groups of the country to strongly impress upon the state and the central governments to take effective measures to avert such happenings. The security concerns voiced by the students and business persons studying and working outside J&K, especially in the states governed by BJP and its Sangh Parivar allies must be addressed.
The younger generation of Kashmir is already facing grave disillusionment and hopelessness due to rising unemployment, uncertainty, limited business opportunities and apathy by the government. The witch hunting by police and the administrative authorities of the educational and training institutions outside J&K will only add to their demoralization and deep alienation. This is bound to prove counterproductive and will also dampen the efforts of channelizing the energy of Kashmiri youth in positive and healthy direction, Tarigami asserted.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The vicious environment created recently in JNU and other institutions across the country by the RSS-led communal forces and the way the central government handled this situation has weakened the confidence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Those studying in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujrat, West Bengal, and Goa are feeling insecure and threatened. It is shameful that BJP-led Government in Goa has ordered to conduct door to door checks of houses inhabited by Kashmiris. This unfortunate phenomenon is pushing the youth of the Kashmir valley to the wall, which would further complicate the situation, Tarigami affirmed and pleaded for stopping forthwith the emerging trend of intolerance in general and harassment of Kashmiri youth and business community in particular.
