Srinagar, Oct 16 (KNS): Welcoming the statement of world rights bodies wherein it asked the Jammu and Kashmir government to stop using the harsh public safety act for detaining people without trail, Dukhtaran-e-Millat Sunday said that the joint statement of Amnesty International, International Commission of Jurists and Human Rights Watch is highly encouraging.
In a statement issued to KNS, the DeM secretary general said that at a time when the Indian government and their puppets are busy in detaining children, men, women, young and old, the statement of these rights bodies is a welcome step and full of hope.
“In the fresh 2016 uprising the puppet Jammu and Kashmir police has detained thousands of people under this deadly act. Children as young as 10 years and men as old as 78 years including women have been detained under this dreadful act,” Nasreen said, adding, “People from across the globe should condemn the use of this brutal act on the innocent civilian population of Jammu and Kashmir.”
To mention, the incarcerated chairperson of DeM has also been detained under the same act and is lodged in Baramulla sub jail.
“Apart from detaining people under PSA, the puppet government has detained the resistance leadership without allowing them to appear for judicial remand. This is the highest violation of human rights,” she said.
Nasreen said that this was the creation of National conference and is now being implemented by the Mufti’s.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Mehbooba, the Nagpur kiNagin has broken all the past records of human rights violations. Meanwhile, the DeM secretary general has condemned the brutal and murderous police action in Nagbal area of Shopian district where dozens of civilians were injured after they stopped the police from entering the village to carry out mass arrests.
“People protested against the police highhandedness and in turn received pellets, bullets and teargas shells. At around 3 AM police tried to barge into the houses. They vandalized properties and beat up the inmates,” she said.
It is now a routine of these goons in uniform to assault and injure people. This is barbarism, Nasreen added.
Meanwhile, a DeM spokesperson Sunday said that a Kashmiri software engineer based in Bangalore, who was arrested 11 years ago and was recently acquitted from the case, has now been implicated in a false case and imprisoned for life. “Bilal Ahmad Kota son of Shamsuddin Kota resident of Sadrabal Lalbazar was arrested in Bangalore. He has been sent for a life time term in jail. The decision was pronounced by a Karnataka court,” she added.
The Dukhtaran-e-Millat has appealed the people of Kashmir to adhere to the calendar of joint resistance leadership and follow it in letter and spirit. (KNS)
