Srinagar, Apr 17 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Pulwama MLA Waheed ur Rehman Para on Friday cautioned that the delimitation exercise could alter India’s electoral politics “forever” if pushed through without broader consultations, and called for a more deliberative approach.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the Pulwama MLA said the government should not rush this decision. "There must be larger consultations before bringing any bill."
The PDP legislator flagged a growing apprehension that a single party could take a permanent decision affecting the country’s electoral framework.

He added, “India is such a big democracy. Should it be based only on majoritarian numbers, mathematics, and quantitative governance, or should there be qualitative governance?”
He said the decision should not be taken in haste. “That’s a concern all of us have,” the PDP leader added. (KNS)
