Langate July 23 (KNS): District Development Council (DDC) Mawer Khurshid Ahmad Dar on Friday evening inaugurated a hollow brick industry in the Mawer area of Handwara.
DDC Mawer Khurshid Ahmad Dar, on the occasion, stressed upon the youths to develop their entrepreneurial skills and start new business ventures. "Our youth should establish self-employment and also give jobs to others," he said.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by BDC Chairman Mawer Tahir Ahmad Mir, AIP, acting president, Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh Sarpanch, Audoora Gh Rasool Tali Khalil. Mohd Thoker, Mohd Ashraf Sofi, Ab Gani Reshi, General Secretary, The Qalamabad Traders' Assoction, Qalamabad, Raja Akbar and several respected citizens.
While appreciating the owner Idrees Manzoor for setting up the ‘Unit’, AIP stalwart Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh said hollow concrete blocks are routinely used in all developed countries as a material of choice for high rise construction.
It is more earthquake resistant, thermally beneficial, cost-effective, and the perfect choice for the civil engineering curriculum.(KNS).
