DDC Gbl reviews progress of works under District Capex, B2V programme

Ganderbal July 20 (KNS): The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today chaired a meeting of line departments to review the progress on works approved under District Capex  Budget and Back to Village (B2V) program in the district.

At the outset, the meeting was informed that under, B2V1, 137 works were authorized for execution for an amount of RS 513.16 lakh out of which 128 works have been completed, one work with respect of Panchayat Halqa  Kachnambal  of I&FC has not been taken due to some dispute and rest works are in different stages of completion.

After detailed discussion the DDC directed the concerned to expedite the work and fixed timeline for completion of works under execution to avoid further delay.

On the occasion, the DDC sought a detailed status department wise of work estimation and tendering process of the works approved under B2V3 program. 

Threadbare discussion was held on the tendering process, feasibility of works, estimate cost and other issues that are hampering the progress of works approved under B2V3.

The DDC sought details from all departments about the works approved under B2V3 program and was informed that 252 works are authorized for execution out of which 219 works have been tendered besides, 24 works are already completed and 53 works are under process.

Keeping in view the importance of such works, the DDC directed the concerned that tendering process of pending works should be completed at an earliest and disputes should also be settled so that all works are tendered in time.

The meeting also discussed the framing of estimates of works under District Capex Budget especially under PRI grants.

After detailed discussion it was observed that only KPDCL and I&FC departments have framed estimates of works till date and it was decided that authorization in favour of these two departments shall be issued immediately as 50 percent funds have been released by the finance department. Other concerned departments were directed to submit complete estimates along with feasibility latest by 6th August 2021 for authorization and subsequent release of funds.

The DDC reiterated that district administration is committed to provide all basic facilities at the door steps of the people especially living in far-flung areas and exhorted upon all the line departments that all such works shall be taken in mission mode so that targets are achieved well in time.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, KPDCL and R&B besides other concerned officials.(KNS)
