Srinagar, feb 05 (KNS): District Congress Committee, Srinagar on Wednesday convened a meeting of office bearers and Block Presidents to review the organizational affairs and activities in the district, besides chalking out a strategy with regard to election of upcoming vacant Panchayat Halqas in Srinagar.
In a statement issued to KNS, the meeting was presided over by DCC President Irfan Naqib.
Addressing the meeting Naqib urged upon the party cadres to gear up for the elections for upcoming Vacant Panchat Halqas to ensure victory of Party with a thumping majority.
On this occasion Naqib told the meeting that it is the Congress Party which has created Panchyati Raj system in the country in order to ensure development of the people especially poor and in rural areas at the grass root level.

Adding that Congress Party will do everything possible to make the Panchayats vibrant in JK, Naqib said Party ( Congress) won't allow BJP or anyother Party to undermine the authority of this vital institution to serve their vested interests.
Naqib also asked the party cadres to start political process in their respective areas. (KNS).
