Takes stock of essential services, Snow clearance measures

Baramulla January 23:(KNS)  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today visited several locations to take stock of various essential services and Snow clearance operations in the district.

The inspection was carried out in the wake of current snowfall to ensure restoration of essential services on war footing basis in case of any breakdown.

At the outset, DC visited District Hospital to take first hand appraisal of various health and patient care services.

The Medical Superintendent, Associated Hospital Baramulla, Dr Syed Masood briefed the DC about all the facilities provided to the patients there and availability of power and water supply in the health institution.

The DC also held interaction with the patients and enquired about the different facilities being provided to them during which he directed to provide these services in a hassle free manner so that patients may not face any inconvenience especially in the current circumstances.

Dr Itoo also got the appraisal of snow clearance measures during which he directed the concerned authorities to ensure that every road is cleared in a time bound manner.

Moreover, DC also took inspection of the main market and enquired from the consumers to check whether the shopkeepers and others concerned are not indulging in illegal profiteering or black marketing. He said that strict legal action shall be taken against those found involved in such practices.

Meanwhile, Dr Itoo informed that sufficient stock of essential commodities are available in the district and there is nothing to worry about.(KNS)
