Warns of disciplinary action against erring officials

Srinagar, June 08 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz on Wednesday asked all officers and officials not to leave office during working hours, and has warned of disciplinary action against them.

According to a circular, issued Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), it has observed that some officials working in different offices of Srinagar District, after marking attendance do not remain available continuously during working hours at their seats and desks.

“Some of them have been reported unauthorizedly out of office for personal work, leading to wastage of precious working hours as well as non-delivery of govt. services to the public. Absence from duties without prior permission, in absence of compelling circumstances amounts to breach of conduct rules,” reads the circular.

It added that it is enjoined upon all officers and officials not to leave office during working hours, else disciplinary action as warranted under rules would be initiated against the erring officer/ official.

“Moreover, each officer/ section in-charge shall ensure that no official is absent from his/her seat for any length of time without specific permission. Any dereliction in this regard would be viewed very seriously,” it said. (KNS)
