DC B'la reviews progress of works in RDD sector


Baramulla July 11:(KNS) District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today convened a meeting to review the pace and position of various ongoing developmental projects undertaken in Rural Development Department (RDD) under 14th FC, Convergence and other related programmes.

The meeting also took an appraisal of the implementation of various schemes including SBM, MGNREGA especially during the current situation arised due to COVID-19 pandemic.

On the occasion, a thorough discussion on the subject was held during which the concerned officers informed the meeting about the current status of various ongoing developmental works in their respective areas.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed to mobilize all the available resources in rural areas so that more and more employment avenues are generated during the present circumstances.

He stressed on adopting all the related SOPs and guidelines issued in connection with COVID-19, especially maintaining social distancing and using face masks at the working or project sites for averting any kind of eventuality.

The DDC further emphasized upon the concerned to accelerate the pace of work so that all the undertaken works are completed well within the fixed timeframe.

Meanwhile, various issues and bottlenecks were also discussed in the meeting during which the DDC issued several directions for their timely redressal and exhorted for the productive utilization of available resources for getting the desired benefits.

Among others the meeting was attended by ACD, District Statistical Officer, Accounts Officer, BDOs and other officers and officials of Rural Development Department.(KNS)
