ANANTNAG, APRIL 29 (KNS); Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat(IAS) today visited Shampora Qazigund and expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family of Fatima Altaf, a Class 2nd student who tragically lost her life after being hit by a vehicle on April 27 at Qullibagh, Kurigam.
The young girl was on her way to School along with her sister Tehmima Altaf and others when the unfortunate incident occurred.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner consoled the grieving family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
He also enquired about the health of the sibling of the deceased who had got critically injured during the said accident.
Dr. Bilal sanctioned a financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh as Road Accident Assistance and another Rs. 1 lakh from District Red Cross Fund in favor of the deceased while a total of Rs.
Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel1 lakh, Rs. 50 thousand each as Road Accident Assistance and District Red Cross Fund, was sanctioned in favor of the critically injured sibling of the deceased victim. Further, Rs. 50 thousand as Road Accident Assistance and Rs. 10 thousand from District Red Cross Fund were sanctioned in favor one victim from another family who had received minor injuries during the sad incident. The cheques were handed over to the families on the occasion.
As a gesture of solidarity during this difficult time, the DC assured full support from administration for the treatment and recovery of the injured.
The DC was accompanied by ADC, Dr. Muzamil Maqbool, Tehsildar Qazigund, Shakeel Ahmed, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Qazigund Mohammed Iqbal, and other officials. (KNS)
