Budgam, Nov 15 (KNS) : The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat along with SSP Nikhil Borkar on Sunday visited the families of the victims who lost their lives in the tragic accident at Waterwani–Mahawara road, in which four (4) persons died and six (6) others were injured.
ADC Budgam and other senior district officers accompanied the DC.
During the visit, the DC and SSP personally conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives. Earlier, the District Administration announced an ex-gratia relief of ?6 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and ?1 lakh each for the injured persons, who are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Srinagar and Budgam.
Police Station Budgam has registered an FIR, and investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
The District Administration once again urged the public to prioritize road safety to help prevent such unfortunate incidents.(KNS)
