Ask govt to look into reasons of brain-drain

Srinagar, Mar 5 (KNS): Doctors Association Kashmir has welcomed the decision of the government to terminate absent doctors from services and has asked the government to look into the reasons of brain drain from the state.
DAK president Dr G M Mir in a statement to KNS said the step will open avenues for many unemployed doctors who want to serve in the state.
DAK urges the government to refer these vacant posts to PSC so that health care delivery is improved. “We also urges the government to look into the reasons of brain drain of doctors from state,” Dr Mir said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Over hundred doctors were terminated by the Governor administration for remaining unauthorisedly absent from services for many years together. The decision of the government was hailed by the people.
DAK believes that government should provide proper working environment with facilities at par with other states so that patients don’t have to go elsewhere for treatment.
“The government should provide incentives to doctors working in rural areas so that they are encouraged to stay back and work in the state,” he said. (KNS)
