Kupwara, Mar 29 (KNS): Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) under the chairmanship of Dr Suhail Naik, President DAK held an important meeting at Kupwara in which various issues pertaining to doctors of Kupwara and Handwara in particular and Kashmir in General were taken.
Dr Suhail Naik, President DAK said that, “All the issues pertaining to the transfer policy was again discussed thread bare for which file has already been submitted to the Secretariat and will be followed up.”
Dr Naik further said, “Maternity services needs to be upgraded both in infrastructure and manpower which will help in reducing the referrals to tertiary care hospitals.”
“Furthermore security of the hospitals all over Kashmir needs to be enhanced which will give a sense of safety to the doctors as there has been incidents of violence off and on,” he added.
“The issues of National Health Mission(NHM) Employees was also discussed as many have been terminated recently by the Governor led administration which was inhuman as their families are suffering and due to their absence brunt is being felt by patients,” Dr Naik further added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Dr Ajaz, President DAK-Kupwara branch proposed the vote of thanks to the chairperson and all the doctors present there.
DAK appeals the Governor to fast track the files of DAK which have been in the Secretariat for more than a year. DAK further appeals to take a humane approach and reinstate the NHM employees at the earliest.
Dr Arshed H Trag who was convener of the meeting in frontier district said that such outreach meetings will be called in all regions of the State. The prime focus of such meetings is upliftment of the fraternity and quality Medicare services for the public at large. (KNS)
