DAK condemns killing of civilian in Pulwama

Trauma care in area could have saved him

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today condemned in strong words killing of a civilian by Border Security Force personnel in Malangpora area of Pulwama.
In a statement to KNS, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said that the barbaric act of killing a defenceless civilian in cold blood is provocative.
Security forces yesterday fired indiscriminately on peaceful protesters as they are unchecked and have no fear of accountability and in fact are protected by draconian laws.
The unabated civilian killings have generated a fear psychosis and people feel insecure and unsafe in Kashmir.
Probes are an eye wash as we have seen in past how these probes end up in trash.
International community is duty bound to take cognizance of this bloodbath and protect human lives by putting an end to civilian killings.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
It was because of lack of trauma care in the area that resulted in death of the injured youth who could have been saved by timely intervention.
He was shifted in a critical condition in an ambulance without life support and trained personnel and died on way to Srinagar.
It is the golden hour than is vital for survival of trauma patients which is wasted in transit.
Patients are dying because of lack of trauma care in peripheries which should be an eye opener for policy makers to establish trauma centres in rural areas. (KNS)
