Traditional music enthralls audience at Bahu fort

Jammu, Dec 20 (KNS): As part of the ongoing collaboration between J&K Bank and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, weekly cultural evening series took off
from Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu Sunday.
During the inaugural day today folk artists from different parts of Jammu presented a colorful show of traditional folk music and theatre at the garden inviting rounds of applause from the audience.
Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, Minister of State for Education and Culture, Priya Sethi and Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini were among those who were present during the inaugural day today.
Held under the “Art for All” initiative of J&K Bank in association with JKAACL, the highlight of the evening was scintillating performance by local groups led by Girdhari Lal (Karkaan), Ram Ditta (Geetru) and Raj Kumar (Haran).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Pertinently, a series of such cultural evenings are already underway at Tagore Hall Srinagar. Jointly organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and J&K Bank, the events are aimed at showcasing rich folk heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his welcome address Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that today was the inaugural of the cultural evenings at Jammu and announced that the Academy in association with the J&K Bank intends to host such evenings on regular basis.
“These events will be held at this venue (Bagh-e-Bahu) every Sunday at 3:00 P.M.,” he said.
Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, and Minister of State for Education and Culture, Priya Sethi also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the joint initiative of the twin organisations. (KNS)
