Cultural Academy to launch “Nukkad Natak” series on social issues

Concerned at fading social mores and practices, the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages has for the first time in its history roped
in professional folk theatre groups to create awareness through ‘Nukkad Nataks’ (street plays) about social issues like corruption, dowry, drug addiction, and westernization.
The Nukkad Natak series to be launched shortly would traverse every nook and corner of the State. This was decided in a meeting of representatives of prominent folk theatre groups chaired by Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini here on Saturday.
During hour long deliberations the representatives of prominent theatre groups were advised to evolve a consensus among all stakeholders so as to revive this dying art form and make it a mass movement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
