Hajini, others meet Gowhar; profile his life, times

Kashmiri litterateurs, artists and academics Tuesday visited jurist-writer, Ghulam Nabi Gowhar at his Kralpora residence. The literati were accompanied by Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Dr. Aziz Hajini.
The visit, first of its kind, was part of a joint series launched by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar under the title “Qadawar”.
Under this series noted literary personalities of the State will be profiled by the twin organizations and the recordings of such meets will be telecast by DD on prime-time.
Dwelling on the importance of ‘Qadawar’ series Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that under this new initiative the Academy intends to have broad-based face-to-face interaction with the unsung doyens of art, culture and literature with a view to profile their life and times for archival purposes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Elucidating the counters of the programme Dr. Hajini said that apart from TV telecast the deliberations held with these unsung doyens of literature will be published in the concerned edition of Academy’s literary journal Sheeraza, adding, the video footage too will be retained for archival purpose.
Today’s meet with Ghulam Nabi Gowhar started with paper reading by noted Kashmiri linguist, Ghulam Nabi Aatish. In his paper Aatish highlighted various aspects of life and times of the jurist-writer.
Among others the Secretary JKAACL was accompanied by Farooq Nazki, Prof. Bashar Bashir, Prof. Shad Ramzan, Abdul Ahad Hajini, Inayat Gul, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Advocate Ghulam Ahmad Niazi, and Nayeem Kashmiri.
The programme was coordinated by assistant editor Encyclopaedia, Dr. Mohammed Rafiq Khan. Chief Editor, Encyclopaedia, Muzaffar Ahmad Tak supervised the event.
