Srinagar, Jan 05 (KNS): Terming Indian paramilitary CRPF’s statement that they were not responsible for the killing of the HMT Zainakote youth, Gowhar Nazir Dar as a distortion of facts, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) spokesman Tuesday said it was aimed at to cover up their dastardly act.
The spokesman in a statement to KNS said the killing of Gowhar was not an isolated incident but such innumerable incidents had taken place in Kashmir where government forces were involved in killing of unarmed civilian youth and various governments had from time to time ordered appointment of commissions of inquiry with the claim of bringing facts to the fore but the commissions had always proved as a time gaining ploy to cover up the matter and to give clean chit to the offenders.
He said the statement of the CRPF was making a mockery of Inquiry Commission appointed by the government to probe in to the case of Gowher Nazir in which already 18 eyewitnesses had deposed their statements where they had clearly stated that CRPF men had opened fire at Gowhar.
The spokesman also termed the statement of the family of Gowhar Nazir that CRPF statement was aimed at influencing the probe of the inquiry commission sounds factual and reasonable.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, the spokesman while paying glowing tributes to the martyrs of 6 January 1993 Sopore massacre on its 23rd anniversary said the massacre was the worst example of state-sponsored terrorism.
He said the sacrifices of life and property of the people were the biggest assets of the ongoing resistance movement and the killing of around 70 people in the massacre on that day and setting large scale arson of the Sopore market damaging the businesses and properties of the people was one of the black spots of the Indian rule in Kashmir.
The APHC spokesman said even 23 years after the massacre and arson, no one had been held responsible and punished for the massacre and arson.
Meanwhile, APHC leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Waza led the people-to-people contact programme of the amalgam to Shangus and addressed several public meetings and delegations and shed light on the different aspects of the ongoing resistance movement.
He urged people to remain united and appealed them to foil the designs of the people involved in stoking sectarian tensions and communal discord. (KNS)
