Srinagar, Dec 19 (KNS): Endeavoring to promote Sports and cultural activities in Kashmir as a part of Civic Action Program, various valley based units of C.R.P.F donated Sports Infrastructure, organized cricket tournament and distributed local, cultural, traditional dresses to various Schools.
In one events S. K. Bhagat, IPS, SDG CRPF J&K Zone Inaugurated Basketball Court at Govt. Central High School, Washbug, Pulwama under Civic Action Programme which is constructed by 183 Bn, CRPF. In the inaugural ceremony of the Basketball court Students, Teachers, Principal of the School, Chief Education Officer, Pulwama and other senior dignitaries of the Civil Administration were present. The inaugural ceremony was organised by Shri. Vinay Anand Prakash, Commandant 183 Bn CRPF alongwith his team of officers and men.
S. K. Bhagat, SDG, CRPF J&K Zone was the chief guest of function who was accompanied by Shri. Nalin Prabhat, IPS, IG (Ops) Kashmir, O. S. Charak, DIG, South Kashmir Operation Range.
The motto of the construction of this Basket ball court is to encourage and uplift the sports talent of students to make them as successful sportsman at nation level.
S. K. Bhagat, SDG, CRPF J&K Zone encouraged the students to do the best in sports also, besides academic achievements and assured all possible help from CRPF for achievement of academic as well as sports goals.
He appreciated the media personnel for their active and progressive contribution in making cordial relations between public and force. Cricket kits for local teams were also distributed during the inaugural ceremony.
Civil & School authorities heartedly appreciated the contribution by CRPF for their school and students.
In another event, CRPF 82 Bn sponsored Cultural Activities at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Khanyar Srinagar to boost local culture tradition.
The programme was inaugurated by G.D. Pandharinath Commandant-82 Bn, CRPF, in presence of School Head mistress Mrs. Tahira Hilali. On the occasion the students, school staff members, and CRPF Officers Smt Neeraj Bala, 2I/C, Anand Singh D/C, Meghraj, A/C were present.
During the programme, local culture tradition dresses and other culture programme related materials provided to this school by CRPF 82 BN. On this Occasion School girls presented cultural programme.
In his closing address, G.D. Pandharinath, Commandant – 82 BN, added that CRPF is not only contributing to restore the Law & Order situation, Internal Security of the nation, but also observing social welfare measures for society and such campaign is one of them, and 82 Bn is always having one step ahead for the welfare of society.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In Another act of fulfilling its social responsibilities The Inter School Cricket Tournament Organised BY 28 BN C.R.P.F. which started on 07/12/15 came to a colorful and enthusiastic end. Team J&K Al-Noor Yateem Trust defeated Team J&K Yateem Trust Batmaloo in the final match by 21 runs. This tournament continued for 13 days and total 09 Matches were played and around 150 players participated from various schools and orphanages.
The colourful closing ceremony wherein prizes were distributed to winning team, runner up team, man of the series and man of the matches of tourney was presided over by Sh. Raghuvansh Kumar (PMG), Commandant 28 Bn CRPF. Master Aaqib of J&K Al-Noor Yateem Trust was elected as both Man of the match of the final match and Man of the series of the tournament.
DIG, Srinagar (North) CRPF S K Parth was the chief guest on this occasion and expressed his satisfaction on the efforts of 28 Bn CRPF in conducting the event successfully. Parth furthermore reiterated that CRPF is committed to adding value to the society at large and shall continue with endeavours like this under its various socially oriented programs. Further, he has appreciated the sportsman spirit and enthusiasm exhibited by both the teams as well as their management.
The whole tournament went smooth without any disputes among the teams and all the umpire’s decisions went unchallenged. The Chairman/Principal of the Trusts/Schools participated in the event appreciated the efforts taken by CRPF to enhance cordial relation with civil population of the valley.
Raghuvansh on this occasion expressed his boundless joy for being able to imbibe and promote the sense of cohesiveness and team spirit amongst young and budding sportsmen from various schools and orphanages in and around Srinagar City. He further said that in ancient Greece, sports formed the principal part of education. In the advanced countries of the present day also, sports are a regular feature of the school and college curriculum & therefore underscored the vitality of sports at par with academics to the gathering which comprised of school children, teachers, officials from civil administration and senior officers from nearby CRPF establishments.
In all the three events CRPF endeavoured to promote the spirit of sports, culture and brotherhood in Kashmir. (KNS)
