Srinagar, Feb 14 (KNS): Chaos was witnessed in Lethpora area in this afternoon after militants carried out a suicide attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in the area, thus killing at least 18 CRPF men and left many injured. However, there was no official confirmation about the number of killings and injured persons in the attack.
The militants as per police rammed the car into the CRPF bus, triggering off an intensive blast, thus leaving many CPRF men dead and several others injured.
IG CRPF and IGP Kashmir, S P Pani reached the spot. They told media persons that the exact number of deaths and injured personnel is yet to be ascertained and will be shared accordingly. They also said the injured personnel were shifted to the hospital.
However, IGP Pani as per KNS correspondent said that “it is a terror incident.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWhat is the nature of explosive, how it has happened, what lead to this explosion are subjected to investigation.”
“We are going to carry out a post blast investigation to verify the circumstances,” he said, adding the exact number of deaths and injuries in the incident is not known and will be shared soon. He further said the site is being cleared.
Meanwhile, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) spokesman also said the number of deaths and injuries to the personnel in Lethpora attack have not been ascertained yet.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), CRPF spokesman Rajesh Yadav said that “the exact number of deaths and injuries in the attack are yet to be ascertained.”
However, he said many CRPF men were wounded and have been shifted to the hospital for treatment. (KNS)
