Srinagar Aug 02 (KNS): The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Saturday carried out multiple raids in Anantnag district and arrested Shahid Rehman Bhat, son of Ab. Rehman Bhat, a resident of Shangus Nowgam. Bhat, the proprietor of M/s AR Trading Agri Services Pvt. Ltd, is accused of swindling crores of rupees from farmers.

According to officials, Crime Branch received several written complaints alleging that Bhat took large sums of money from people on the promise of supplying High Density Apple Plants.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHowever, he neither delivered the plants nor returned the money, and later went into hiding.

Investigations revealed bank transactions amounting to crores of rupees taken from unsuspecting complainants, mostly farmers.

Bhat had applied for bail, but the Additional Sessions Judge Anantnag rejected his application after Crime Branch submitted strong objections and prima facie evidence against him. The case is registered under FIR No. 16/2025 under Section 318 (4) of BNS 2023.(KNS)
