Crackdown Continues: Srinagar police intensifies raids on residences of terror associates linked to banned organisations

Srinagar November 12 (KNS): In a continued offensive against terror networks and their facilitators, Srinagar Police on Wednesday intensified search operations across multiple locations in the city, targeting individuals linked with proscribed terrorist organisations.

According to officials, the raids were part of ongoing investigations under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act - UAPA, aimed at dismantling the ecosystem that supports militancy and anti-national activities in the region.

“Searches were conducted at the residences of terrorist associates and overground workers (OGWs) in various areas of Srinagar,” officials said, adding that over 150 locations were covered during the massive operation.

The coordinated raids spanned all police zones of the city and were carried out jointly by local police stations, police posts, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the District Police.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Officials said the operations were conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, following all legal procedures and under the supervision of senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The primary objective of the crackdown was to seize incriminating materials including digital devices, documents, and other evidence relevant to ongoing cases. The raids also served as part of a wider intelligence exercise to pre-empt and disrupt any terror conspiracies that could threaten public peace and security.(KNS)
