J&K State Committee CPI (M) has expressed its grief over the massive damages caused to households, fruits, standing crop and loss of life due to devastating cloudburst and windstorm that struck across the valley particularly in Kokernag, Kullan Kangan, Pahalgam, Khrew, Duggar Pora Baramulla, Nandimarg and Sadew Shopian.
While expressing sympathies with the affected people, Ghulam Nabi Malik, State Secretary CPI (M) has called upon the government to depute teams to assess the losses in the affected villages so that they compensated forthwith.
Demanding free ration to the affected people, he said that the cloudburst and windstorm have completely damaged standing crops and fruits.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe impressed upon the government to take cognizance of the plight of affected families who have lost their near ones, households and livelihood due to this natural calamity.
He urged the government to initiate and expedite assessment of losses of fruit growers and farmers, and compensate them on account of these losses suffered due to torrential rains and hail storm in these areas. Malik also urged SKUAST Vice Chancellor and the horticulture department to depute teams of experts to ascertain the cause and remedies of the diseases caused to fresh fruits like apples and walnuts due to torrential rains.
