Baramulla, Mar 24 (KNS): As a precautionary measure to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 outbreak, authorities in Baramulla district imposed total lockdown wherein the movement of general public has been strictly restricted. Shops and other business establishments remained closed where as the public transport remained off the roads.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo accompanied by CMO Baramulla inspects various quarantine centres, where he took stock of various arrangements put in place at these centres for detection of suspected cases. Pertinent to mention that about 20 quarantine centres with the capicity 800 beds have been established by the administration at several locations viz Kunzer, Pattan, Baramulla and at other vital locations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On the occasion, DC took a detailed review of various necessities wherein he directed to put in place a viable mechanism besides mobilizing resources in this regard. He stressed upon the concerned authorities to work in coordination and cohesion at this critical juncture.
Appealing the general public to extend cooperation in these circumstances. DC urged upon them to stay indoors as it is only viable alternative for securing themselves. He stressed to avoid any kind of gathering and said that maintaining social distance can largely help us to combat the virus.
Moreover, he enlisted various initiatives taken by the administration in this regard. (KNS)
