Baramulla, March 17 (KNS): As a precautionary measure to avert any kind of eventuality in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today carried a special fumigation drive during which public places, hospitals, government offices and other places of public importance are being cleaned and sprayed with the fumigants.
DC also launched a massive sanitation drive wherein several places of vital public importance were cleaned. The drive was carried as a move to ensure cleanliness in the surrounding so any risk in the wake of COVID-19 is mitigated.

Meanwhile, four violators who have placed heaps of garbage on the roadsides in Choora village, were booked under the relevant provisions.
Speaking on the occasion, DC issued strict warning to the violators and said that necessary legal action shall be initiated against all such miscreants. He appealed the people to cooperate with the administration in the sanitation drive besides highlighted various ill consequences of environmental pollution. Moreover, DC said that necessary screening centres have been established at all the railway stations where the passengers shall be screened. (KNS)
