Srinagar, May 17 (KNS): A Court on Tuesday quashed the detention of Irshad Ahmad Mir under Public Safety Act and directed police to release him.
According to Advocate Bashir Ahmad Tak, Police had arrested a local, Irshad Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rehman Mir, resident of Brakpora Anantnag, on charges of motivating the youth to join militancy, peace disturbance, guiding militants and distributing letter pad of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen among the people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He had been booked by Anantnag Police under an FIR vide number 349/2015 dated 09-11-2015. Detention order was passed on March, 5, 2016 under number 13/2015.
Meanwhile, Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak who was pleading the case of Irshad Ahmad Mir said that Justice Muzaffar Hussain Ataar quashed his detention under PSA and directed police to release him. (KNS)
