Srinagar, March 13 (KNS): The district magistrate of Jammu on Friday directed for closure of shopping malls, gyms, swimming pools and recreational clubs shall be closed with immediate effect.
This development came in the wake of increasing coronaviorus outbreak across the India.
"All shopping malls, gyms, swimming pools, recreational clubs, of Jammu shall remain closed with immediate effect," district magistrate of Jammu said.
“Any violation of this order shall invite action under Indian Penal Code,” order reads.
As preventive measures, the Jammu and Kashmir administration ordered closure of primary schools and anganwadi centres and shutting down of cinema halls across the region till 31 March.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Kashmir University on Thursday announced suspension of all classes for the rest of March as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus disease.
"It is notified for the information of all concerned that the classwork at the University of Kashmir including its main campus and all other satellite campuses shall remain suspended with effect from March 12, 2020 to March 31, 2020 as a precautionary measure in view of the pandemic Covid-19," a varsity spokesperson said.
The move comes a day after the Jammu and Kashmir administration shut down all schools, colleges and private tuition centres in view of the rising number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country. (KNS)
