Cop kills colleague after assuming attack in Handwara

Srinagar, Sept 22 (KNS): Assuming an attack by anti-national elements, a sentry opened fire after his colleague forcefully tried to enter a temple in Handwara area of North Kashmir' Kupwara district late last night, police said on Wednesday. 

A senior police official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that in the firing incident the cop identified as Ajay Dhar son of Late Krishen Lal Dhar of Langate received bullet injuries and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. 

He said that the cop was posted at PS Handwara and tried to forcefully enter into the temple in the midnight. "The sentry assuming it as an attack by anti-national elements opened fire," the official said. (KNS)
