Srinagar, Apr 26 (KNS): Two persons including a cop were arrested along with 69 kgs of Poppy Straw and cash in Tangnar area of Budgam district, police said here in Tuesday
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), on Monday a Patrolling party of PS Chadoora stopped an Alto Vehicle bearing Registration Number JK04E 9628 for Checking on Nagam_Hayatpora road near Tangnar Crossing.
The statement reads that on checking, two persons namely Mohd Ayoub Beigh S/0 Mohd Jamal Beigh R/0 Nowhar and Nazir Ahmad Shiekh S/0 Mohd Shafi Shiekh R/0 Tangnar were found boarding the instant vehicle.

It reads that during search of vehicle and the persons in question 69 kgs of Poppy straw and a cash of 55000 was recovered from their possession.
It added that Mohd Ayoub is a constable in JK Police and is presently posted in DPL Budgam.
“Case FIR NO. 69/22 under relevant provisions of NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been set into motion,” it reads. (KNS)
