Bandipora, Feb 11 (KNS): The cop, who was killed in a militant attack near Eidgah area of Bandipora district on Friday, had got engaged around four months ago in his neighbourhood.

A family member of the slain cop Zubair Ahmad, while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that he had got engaged with a girl in his neighbourhood in the month of October.  

He said that Zubair was youngest in his family and is survived by his parents and elder brother.

He also said that Zubair was a noble soul and a person with jolly nature. Zubair had joined the Jammu and Kashmir police as special police officer (SPO) and was posted in Bandipora only.

Zubair, as per an official, was driver of a police bunker vehicle and at the time of the attack he was with the naka party near Eidgah

Notably, a cop was killed while four others including three cops and an ASI of BSF were injured after militant lobbed a grenade towards the joint naka party near Eidgah today evening.

An official said that two among the injured persons have been shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

He said that police have registered a case while investigation has been taken up in this regard. (KNS)
