Jammu, Dec 18 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said coordinated and sustained action against terrorists, their enablers and ideologues was necessary to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem and eliminate safe havens in the Union Territory.

Chairing a UT-level security conference on the lines of the Directors General of Police and Inspectors General of Police Conference, Sinha said the real security gains achieved since 2019 must be defended and consolidated. The meeting was held under the theme “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions.”

According to an official statement, the Lieutenant Governor said every terrorist and supporter operating in the Valley, forests, hills or villages must be neutralised to ensure lasting peace and stability.

He stressed the need for seamless coordination among security and intelligence agencies to counter evolving threats and prevent the revival of terror networks. “Threadbare discussions were held on various aspects of internal security with a focus on strengthening counter-terror operations and safeguarding hard-earned gains,” the statement said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Lieutenant Governor said Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed significant improvement in the security situation over the past few years due to focused operations and policy measures, but cautioned against complacency.

Sinha said security preparedness should align with the broader national vision of a developed India, adding that peace and security are prerequisites for development and public welfare.

The conference reviewed the overall security scenario, including counter-terrorism operations, border management, and measures to prevent radicalisation. Senior officers from the police, armed forces and intelligence agencies attended the meeting.

The Lieutenant Governor said the administration remains committed to ensuring zero tolerance against terrorism and its support structures, and asserted that firm action would continue against all elements threatening peace in the Union Territory.(KNS).
