Calls PAGD a forced marriage, says leaders joined it to hide their faults

"All political leaders should think about welfare of people of J&K at crucial juncture of history"

Srinagar, Aug 31(KNS): Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Apni Party Youth President , Junaid Azim Mattu on Wednesday said political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir are deceiving the people once again by saying that they are fighting for the restoration of Article 370 and 35A.

In an exclusive interview with Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mattu while targeting people's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), which was formed to fight against the revocation of the erstwhile state's special status, said that "they actually want to contest elections in J&K and hoodwink the people that they are fighting for the restoration of Article 370."

Calling PAGD a forced marriage, he said that "all the leaders associated with it due to compulsion to hide their own defects."

"They may win or lose the election but will not do anything about the restoration of article 370 because the issue is beyond their scope and won't be able to do anything about it," he said.

"It has been a tradition in J&K that the leaders here used to contest elections by raising the issue of autonomy and now they will fight some elections over the restoration of 370," he added that a lot of blood has been spilled here due to false hopes of political leaders.
He suggested the leaders of all political leaders to think about the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at the crucial juncture of history.

Referring to the political leaders who say that they will fight for the restoration of 370, he said that "the issue of restoration of Article 370 is beyond their purview and they should not promise people about it, so I think it is nothing less than a hoax."

About Farooq Abdullah led National Conference, he said, "The party always choose the path of compromise on important events regarding J&K and it will do the same in future as well."

"When there is any trouble in Jammu and Kashmir, the political leaders here are taunting each other," he said while holding everyone responsible for deteriorating situation here.

On Apni party's B-team tag, he said that the National Conference and the People's Democratic Party have formed an alliance with the BJP in past. "They have already made an alliance with the BJP then why do they suspect anyone else of being an alliance maker?."

He also blamed Congress for all the problems in Jammu and Kashmir and holds them responsible for the death of people.(KNS)
