Srinagar, Jan 04 (KNS): Lashing out at Centre Govt for change of currency (Demonetization) Congress today held series of meetings in Anantnag and Puwama and blamed Prime Minister for putting people of the country to a great hardships by changing the Country’s currency overnight.
The meetings were addressed by AICC Observers Aftab Ahmad (Former Minister) and Mateen Ahmad (Ex. MLA), later they addressed Media persons also.
Blaming the Centre for failing to prove its claim about black money and black money hoarders in the Country, both the leaders while addressing the separately held workers meetings in Towan Hall Pulwama and Khanabal Anantnag blamed the Centre for change of currency inorder to hide its failures, as the Prime Minister has not been able to address the genuine concerns of the people.
They asked the Prime Minister to explain to people as to how many thousands of corers of black money were recovered so far, as the people want to know what the Nation has achieved due to so called demonetization, because it was ultimately the people poor and downtrodden who have suffered immensely, besides damaging the country’s economy, they added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Later addressing Media person in Anantnag and Puwama, the AICC Observers told Media that Prime Minister must explain to people as to how many people behind black money business were punished or arrested so far, as nothing seems to have happened in this direction.
They said people have suffered immensely due to the so called demonetization and it is surprising that people are begging for their own money.
They said Congress Party would intensify its campaign against the demonetization and would make the Centre especially Prime Minister accountable and answerable to people
Those who were present on the occasion included Vice President Mohd Anwar Bhat, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, General Secretaries Hilal Ahmad Shah Surinder Singh Channi, Mohd Iqbal Mir, District Presidents G. M. Mir, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Sr. Leader Ali Mohd Mantoo and other leaders of District Anantnag and Pulwama were present. (KNS)
