Congress refrains from GST meet

‘PDP-BJP in a state of confusion’

Srinagar, Jun 24 (KNS): Congress Saturday refrained from the meeting convened on GST in Srinagar today citing the reason as ‘non-serious attitude of the Govt with regard to implementation of GST’.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the Party also blamed PDP BJP coalition for being in a State of confusion over GST, as a result, the trade bodies in the entire state were in dilemma.
The Party spokesperson in statement issued said that Congress Party has decided to refrain from the meeting, saying that Govt has failed to circulate draft resolution, as it was decided that the draft resolution of GST would be circulated to Congress and other parties, enabling them to debate and discuss the GST at length to evolve a consensus, but this is unfortunate that no such proposal from the Govt side has come out so far, which reflects that both PDP BJP are in a state of confusion and has no roadmap on GST.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Expressing surprise over the non-serious attitude of the Govt, the Party Spokesperson said that despite the pressing demand from opposition for draft resolution, nothing was done from the Govt Side, which has sent confusing signals among the entire political spectrum in the State.
He added that despite the instructions from the Chief Minister in the all Party meeting held in Srinagar, no draft resolution as demanded by us was circulated so far and one fails to understand that on the one hand PDP BJP is in hurry to implement GST and on the other hand Govt is not even able to circulate draft resolution, which is indicative of double standards and ill intentions on the part of the PDP BJP, which has compelled Congress Party to refrain from today’s GST meet.
