Srinagar Oct 2 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Sunday paid floral tributes to father of the Nation on his birth Jayanti ( Birth anniversary).
JKPCC also remembered Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.
Senior leaders and workers of J&K Pradesh Congress in a meeting of presided over Mohd Anwar Bhat paid floral tributes to father of Nation on his his Jayanti, recalling his sacrifices and selfless services to the Nation.
The speakers highlighted Gandhi Jis great contribution to the Nation and said the departed leader led the Nation in freedom struggle against British Colonial rule and gave countless sacrifices for the dugnity and honour of the Nation.
Nation would continue to remain indebted to Mahama Gandhi for his struggle who fought against barbarism and injustice and never compromised on the prestige of the Nation, they added and said Gandhi Ji led the non -violent movement against the British and achieved the freedom.
JKPCC also paid rich tributes to Former Prime late.Lal Bhadur Shastri on his birth anniversary, terming him a great and selfless leader, who led the Nation towards prosperity and development.
The speakers emphasized that Nation needs to follow the foot steps of Mahatma and safeguard secular fabric and harmony in the count that will be the real tribue to Mahatma.
Senior Congress Leaders Ghulam Nabi Monga, Surinder Singh Channi, Shameema Iqbal also spoke on the occasion.
