Banihal, Aug 21 (KNS): The birthday of Rajiv Gandhi was today celebrated in shape of Grand rally organized by Congress workers at Banihal here today.
Rajiv Gandhi's birthday commemorate the values, attitudes and ideals of the late Prime Minister. An attempt is made to understand and uphold his passion for the progress of the nation and his pioneering of many national and international projects said by Senior Party leader and MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani.
While addressing the huge crowd Vikar Rasool highlighted the achievements of Congress led governments in India and said that Congress believes in the slogans of unity in diversity since the formation of this pro public party.

Among others senior Congress leader and Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee Imtiyaz Ahmad Khanday also spoke on the occasion and express his serious concern on communal politics of Narinder Modi led union government.
On the occasion hundreds of party leaders from PDP, NC and BJP left their parties and joined Congress prominent among them are PDP leader Nabeel Khalid, Ashaq Hussain, Iqbal Wani, Mohd Rafiq, Mushtaq Ahmad besides their dozens of followers, Abdul Majeed Wani senior leader, Shabir Nayek from NC Saleema begum, NC women wing president Banihal along with her dozens of workers, Ab Gani Secretary BJP along with his associates and Fayaz Ahmad of Malik as along with dozens of Youths from Maligam also joined Congress party which was warmly welcomed by MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool in today's function.
