Remembers Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 119th birth anniversary
Srinagar Oct 2 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Monday observed 154 Gandhi Jayanti at Srinagar Party Office and paid floral tributes to father of the Nation recalling his great contributions and sacrifices to the freedom struggle of India
JKPCC also remembered Former Prime Minister Lal Bhadur Shastri on his 119 Birth anniversary recalling his self-services to the Nation.
In an extraordinary function held to commemorate the Gandhi Jayanti, Congress Leaders and workers led by Former JKPCC President Peerzada Mohd Sayeed paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his Jayanti and highlighted his great contributions and sacrifices towards the Nation.
Former Legislator Ghulam Nabi Monga, Surinder Singh Channi, Abdul Gani Khan and various other leaders, AICC/PCC Members, DCC Presidents etc who were present paid floral tributes to Mahatma.
Speaking on the occasion Peerzada Mohd Sayeed said Gandhi led the freedom struggle for the dignity and honour of the people, the Nation achieved freedom from the British colonial rule after countless sacrifices.
Gandhi’s contribution to the Indian freedom movement was very significant, he led the Dandi March, Quit India Movement and Non cooperation movement while teaching people to remain on the path of peace and shun violence. The world has appreciated the Gandhian Philosophy of non-violence and peace, which is bound to inspire generations.
Former Legislator Gh.Nabi Monga said the best way to safeguard over freedom is to respect humanity and strengthen diversity and communal harmony, which is the hallmark of our Secular Nation guaranteeing safety and security of every citizen irrespective of colour or religion.
Senior Leader Abdul Gani Khan and Surinder Singh Channi also spoke on the occasion.(KNS)
